I'm not a big "western" fan, so was surprised that this book engaged me from the beginning. I love Clarkson's style with the chapters beginning with conversation between a visitor and the prisoner - then leading in to the real story for the rest of each chapter. It was a page-turner. As I'd end a chapter I couldn't stop - I just had to read the what the visitor had to say to the prisoner before I could put it down for the day. It's a good, clean book that I'll be comfortable having my kids read. And like all good novels, I was a bit sad to come to the end. Looking forward to a sequel!Product details

I couldn't put it down! It was really fun to read and interesting the whole time. Its also an easy read, which is nice for a change.
This book was so fun to read! Very clean and the perfect book for older kids. The only complaint I have is I didn't want it to end! )
very nice western story with all the ingrediants
It has been a while since I have read a book I could not put down, but this one delivered. The story is outstanding. The writing style was good and the characters are very engaging. I found myself thinking about the characters and story long after I read the book. A very good read.
I really enjoyed this book! I love the character development and I always love reading about the wild west. I WILL be reading the sequel! I hope it comes sooner rather than later!
I loved the book. I found it hard to put down and could not wait to pick it back up. The characters were interesting and not just the main characters, the author created each character with their own uniquie personality and feeling. He really made the characters come alive. I laughed and I even teared up a bit and I was sad when the book ended, I wanted to hear more. Can't wait for the sequel!!! Good job Clarkson.
Whenever I get to the end of a book and REALLY don't want it to end, I know I'll tell friends and family to read it. Which is exactly what happened when I finished this book. Lots of hilarious interactions between characters, strong moments, etc. I hope Clarkson writes the sequel soon so I can learn what happens next.
